| Description |
Villa del Sol is a detached villa situated in a residential area, on a hillside overlooking the sea. It is approached from a private parking area down a flight of steps to the garden with a variety of fragrant Mediterranean shrubs, and a terrace with private filtered pool which is walled and gated for safety.
Villa del Sol is on the Monte de los Almendros, a popular but quiet hillside overlooking Salobrena. The main shops and restaurants of the town, and the beach, are just 4-6km away.
The villa is an easy drive down the coast road from Malaga airport (100km / 90minutes) and good roads link Salobrena with Granada, Almeria, the port of Motril and the villages of the Alpujarra, as well as numerous local attractions. |

Salobrena is a busy small town which attracts many Spanish visitors but is not yet visited by large tour operators.
It is clustered around a rocky outcrop overlooking the sea and shelters a fertile valley where sugar cane, avocados, mangoes and custard apples are cultivated.
Inland rise the peaks of the Sierra Nevada and water from these mountains is fed around the fields in irrigation channels built by the Moors. Below the main town there is a long beach with a wide promenade and chiringuitos selling local fish and seafood dishes.
The ancient part of Salobrena is a maze of narrow winding streets climbing up to the old Moorish castle which dominates the town. The walk to the top can be thirsty work but there are numerous bars and restaurants to provide welcome refreshment.
The views from the castle of the sea, valley and mountains are spectacular, lush with bougainvillea and the perfume of jasmine. Weeks commence on Saturday.
