| Description |
Our old restored Cortijo home is situated in a secluded peaceful location on its own hill surrounded by gardens full of exotic, colourful flowers, sweet smelling plants and orange and lemon trees.
The Cortijo has breathtaking panoramic mountain and countryside views of olive and almond trees all the way around and looks south towards the hill top village of Comares. The attractive swimming pool sits naturally in the landscape within the garden.
We have renovated the Cortijo to a very high standard retaining the features and feeling of this beautiful comfortable home but with all modern facilities. Traditional heavy old doors and wooden shutters, hand made tiles and beamed ceilings throughout are part of the unique character and charm of this spacious and special retreat.
The interior has been professionally designed with particular attention to details. The Cortijo is spacious and offers luxury for up to five people to enjoy the comfortable surroundings. The two double bedrooms are large and en-suite. One has a king sized bed. This bedroom has a double bath.
The upper bedroom has a super king sized bed and walk in shower. This bedroom opens onto the upper terrace where there are two further sunbeds plus table and chairs. These bedrooms have ceiling fans.
The single bedroom has a pretty antique wash hand basin and a standing fan. Central heating and a Jotul log burning stove are available for the cooler months.
There is a living room with satellite TV (free view channels in English) and DVD plus a CD player also satellite TV is in the two master bedrooms.
The dining area with an antique table and seating for up to six people.There is an extensive library of books, DVD''s and CD''s for your enjoyment. A quiet room(with Wifi)leads to the master bathroom.
The kitchen area has a hob, oven, microwave, fridge with freezer, washing machine and dryer. Outside are terraces bordered with flowers and exotic plants and trees and many areas to sit, read or paint, all with different aspects.
There are dining tables and chairs, sunloungers, areas for table tennis and boules. There is also a barbecue area. There is plenty of shade in the summer.
All linen and bathroom towels are supplied and changed weekly but please bring your own swimming pool/beach towels. The swimming pool is of a good size and is maintained weekly.
There is a poolside shower and sun copy.
Leisure activities in the area include: golf, tennis, horse riding in the countryside and along the beach, scuba diving and water sports, sailing on Lake Vinuela and the sea, wind surfing, swimming, fishing in the lake and the sea, rock climbing, hang gliding, parascending, jetski, go-karting, trekking and biking, bird watching and painting, skiing in the Sierra Nevada (Granada). For a quiet, tranquil, relaxing stay yet within easy reach of local villages, the coast and historic cities then Cortijo El Terral is for you. |

Single night stays are available off season (two nights stay minimum)for bedroom with en-suite only with use of facilities including fridge, tea/coffee making, pool and terraces etc If you require the owners wing of the Cortijo (not shown and not occupied when renting)for a special occasion please contact the owners for details.
The nearest airport is Malaga and the drive is 45 minutes to the Cortijo. Or you could fly into Granada and the drive is then one and a half hours.
Both are not difficult drives and we supply detailed directions and a contact number to help you. In the Cortijo is an information pack which tells you about the nearest shops, restaurants, banks, medical centre, beaches.
